Exploring every opportunity for space
For any architect, space is the most valuable material they have to work with. Making appropriate use of available space is the key for successful design, and this is something we keep in mind in all the work we do. This doesn't only apply to the creation of new buildings, but also when adapting and altering existing ones.Although many buildings were initially designed and constructed with very specific uses in mind, their requirements may change over time, which necessitates making changes to the building. The current outlay of a property should not be viewed as a restriction on what can be done with it, but as an opportunity to renovate in order to maximise the space and use it in a way that suits the needs of the people who inhabit it.This is all the more relevant to those of us who live and work in London. For practical or financial reasons, moving to a bigger or differently laid out home or business premises may not an option. Maximising the space you currently have is often far more viable. Our team work with you to consider, design and ultimately deliver the changes your property needs to deliver the required space.More and more people are embracing renovations and extensions for their existing properties. This is reflected in the healthy level of competition in the New London Architecture's annual "Don't Move, Improve!" competition. As the name suggests, this competition celebrates the wonderful and innovative architectural changes people have made to properties in London to gain a better, bigger living space. In recent times, we were proud that one of our residential architecture projects, the Court House in Islington, was considered for this award. With this in mind, it is great for us to see the nominated work for these awards, as they spread awareness of just what can be done to improve and alter commercial and residential architecture in London.
