The Modern Terrace is a bright overhaul of a three bedroom terraced home. A skylit, glass staircase floods spaces with light, while concrete detailing and an open fireplace ensure warmth and character.
The Modern Terrace has transformed a traditional terraced house into a bright, energy-efficient home. The redesign introduces abundant natural light through new windows, especially illuminating the core of the house. The substantial remodelling process creates a spacious kitchen and entrance area and converts the attic into an extra bedroom. This residence features underfloor heating throughout and a new staircase with open treads that promote air circulation. With enhanced wall insulation, the home has effectively addressed climate control problems, evolving into a cozy and modern three-bedroom family home that serves as a refreshing, light-filled retreat in the city.
Light / Glazed Stair
In the Modern Terrace, a well-lit staircase ascends through the house, capped with a skylight that bathes the steps in natural light. Interestingly, the second flight of stairs is constructed from glass, a design choice that permits unobstructed views from the bottom level to the top. This same design enables sunlight to penetrate from the top, illuminating the center of the home. Further enhancing the feeling of space and brightness is a strategically positioned mirror on the first floor, which reflects the light. Craft / Concrete
