The reawakening of New York's architecture

Now there's an exciting new addition to the city skyline. It took thirteen years to erect, but One World Trade Center has finally opened doors to its first tenants. Publishing giant Conde Nast is set to be the first resident of the brand new building.The official opening date was the 3rd of November 2014 and the tower is built on the site of the old Twin Towers, adjacent to the 9/11 Memorial and Museum. Its 140 storeys extend 540 metres into the sky, and it has ceremoniously been named the tallest building in the western hemisphere. With a steel-reinforced concrete structure, it is designed to be as durable as possible. Eventually, the building's observation deck will be open to the public, offering unbeatable views for miles in every direction.The brand new tower is helping the area to continue to thrive.
