Great design is crucial to creating residential architecture

The last few days have been very exciting for us, seeing our projects successfully finding their way on to a number of shortlists for prestigious prizes. We couldn't be happier, particularly because it shows that our work continues to create attractive residential architecture London can be proud of. The first shortlist we were added to was Architects' Choice for the 2017 Brick Awards. This is an incredible award to be in the running for, particularly because the projects on the shortlist have been voted for by our peers. The winner will display creative use of bricks in the architecture. Our Modern Detached contemporary arts and crafts home does just that.In addition to the Brick Awards we will also be participating in the Inside Housing Development Awards 2017. These celebrate the best developments in the UK from the past year, taking a look at projects in 13 different categories. A panel of expert judges will decide on the winners.Coffey Architects feature in five different categories thanks to our participation in the Brick by Brick smaller sites programme in Croydon. The work is in the running in the best affordable housing development (rural and suburban), best architectural design, best development team, best regeneration project (London), and best shared ownership development categories.The fact that our work has made it on to so many shortlists alongside such wonderful projects is astonishing.
