The criteria for success in residential renovations
One of the things which makes December such a vibrant time for architects in London is the announcement of the "Don't Move, Improve!" awards shortlist. This award, supported by both RIBA and the highly influential Dezeen magazine, celebrates architectural achievements in respect of renovating and transforming homes. Traditionally the shortlisted candidates are named during the first week of December, with the awards being presented early in the New Year. It has, throughout the seven year history of the award, been the norm for the winners to all be quite visually striking and aesthetically beautiful. This is, we can assure you, incidental. Whilst of course the look and style of architecture is of vital importance in terms of projects being seen as a success, the "Don't Move, Improve!" awards seek to celebrate more than just appearance. The core values by which "Don't Move, Improve!" nominees are considered are the cost-effectiveness of the design and the level to which the changes made to a property have benefited those living within it. This is to say that work selected for awards must, in a demonstrative way, be delivered in a way that creates a better way of living for those of us in London. Style and appearance are important, but they are not the only factors which are considered. We have always worked in a way that has the above values at the heart of what we do. As one of the leading architects in London we are acutely aware of all factors which must be considered and included for projects to be a success. In taking full consideration of this we are able to present a much more informed project, delivering above and beyond all of your requirements. The "Don't Move, Improve!" awards shortlist has come to be the perfect way to round off a year, allowing all to celebrate and enjoy the wonderful work of the myriad of architects serving London. We're looking forward to seeing the many remarkable projects which will make up the list this year, with the innovation and creativity on display serving to inspire our work.
